After an eventful 2024 campaign, Tottenham have started the new season fairly positively. With Ange Postecoglou out and Thomas Frank in at the helm, Spurs have taken six points from their first three games and sit third in the Premier League table. New signings such as Mohammed Kudus and Joao Pahlina have flashed real promise, and with Brazilian forward Richarlison back among the goals, Spurs fans have good cause for optimism. Can they continue their good form under Thomas Frank?

The Spreadex fixed odds betting prices currently have Tottenham as the favourite, at 10/11 to win the game. The Europa League champions have had a strong start to the season and will be hoping to follow up with a good performance to open their Champions League campaign. Alternatively, punters can back visitors Villarreal at 29/10, or a draw at 5/2.
We also offer a 2 Up early payout market, which pays out when a team goes two goals up at any point during the game. You can back Spurs to go two goals ahead at any point at 17/20 or back Villarreal at 13/5.
This is the first competitive tie between the two sides, with the only game against each other being a friendly back in 2010, which Villarreal won 4-1. Both teams are, of course, very different now, but if you expect a similar result, you can back Villarreal to score 4+ and win at 20/1.

Spreadex also has a number of spread betting markets for Tuesday’s clash. Our “Goal Supremacy” market has Tottenham favoured by 0.45-0.65 goals. This means if you expect Tottenham to win, you would “buy” and if you expect either a draw or Villarreal to win, you would “sell”.
Our popular “Total Goals” market is currently set at 2.8-3. This is for the total number of goals scored in the match by both teams. Both sides have shown prowess in front of goal this season, and if you expect this to continue, you can “buy” on this market. You would then need at least four goals in the game to turn a profit, with this winning one-times your stake, a five-goal game winning two-times your stake, and so on.
If you expect a lower-scoring affair, you would “sell”. In this case, you would need fewer than two goals to turn a profit. A 0-0 draw would win you 2.8 times your stake if you sold (2.8-0=2.8), but if the game finished 4-2 you would lose 3.2 times your stake (2.8-6=-3.2)

Price boosts for this match will be made available on the Spreadex website the day before the game. Our pricing team has also put together a collection of popular bet-builders for the tie, which are live now.
Spurs were held goalless for the first time this season in their last game against Bournemouth. If you think they may struggle to score again, you back them to have under 0.5 goals at 7/2. Villarreal, on the other hand, have scored in every game this year, but are priced slightly shorter at 7/4 to go scoreless in Tuesday’s clash.
