2025/26 Championship Betting Preview: Week 4

headerpar

The Championship table has begun to take shape with Stoke City and Middlesbrough the early pacesetters. Both of those sides play partner clubs this weekend and we have previewed the pick of the process and spreads from our Championship betting odds.

Also new for this season is our Match Odds – 2 Up market. This will see your 1X2 bet paid as a winner if your selection goes two goals in front.

MIDDLESBROUGH v SHEFFIELD UNITED, SATURDAY 12:30PM

Ruben Selles is under the pump already at partner club Sheffield United and his side are 21/10 to get a much-needed win tomorrow lunchtime away at Middlesbrough. Boro – with three wins from three – sit joint top of the Championship and they are 6/5 to continue their perfect start, with the draw priced at 12/5.

The Blades have only scored one this season in the league, with Boro only shipping one goal and you can trade Sheffield United Goals at 1.1-1.25. In our boosted bets, Boro’s Tommy Conway has been pushed out to 17/10 to score anytime from 29/20.

STOKE CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION, SATURDAY 12:30PM

Stoke City will also be looking to extend their perfect start when they play host to partner club West Bromwich Albion in a Midlands derby tomorrow. The Baggies have made an impressive start to the season, but their away record in 2025 is lamentable and that will no doubt put some punters off the 7/4 about a Baggies win.

Mark Robins’ Stoke side were 2-1 winners on the road at Southampton last weekend and although they suffered a 3-0 reverse against Bradford City in the cup, they are 31/20 going into Saturday.

Goals have been at a premium in West Brom’s league matches this term and you can trade Total Goal Minutes at 117-127 with Total Goals available to buy or sell at 2.3-2.5.

BLACKBURN ROVERS v NORWICH CITY, SATURDAY 3PM

Another game which appears hard to call is Norwich’s trip to Ewood Park, with both sides sitting level on three points. Blackburn won last time out in the league, with an impressive 3-0 win over Hull City and they are 7/5 to collect all three points heading into tomorrow.

The banks of the River Ewood have been a happy hunting ground for Norwich recently, with the Canaries winning on five of their last seven visits to this corner of Lancashire. An away win for the Canaries can be backed at 2/1, with the draw priced up at 11/5.

Japanese striker Yuki Ohashi will once again be asked to lead the line for Rovers and he is 11/5 from 19/20 to hit the back of the net tomorrow.

IPSWICH TOWN v DERBY COUNTY, SATURDAY 3PM

Both sides meeting tomorrow in Suffolk are winless in the league this season as Derby County head to Portman Road to face Ipswich. Kieran McKenna’s side haven’t had the easiest of starts to the campaign and they are 4/7 to collect their first three points of the season – the shortest price of the weekend in the second tier.

Partner club Derby have one point to show for the endeavours so far this season, having secured a late draw on the road at Bristol City last Friday night. That result came off the back of a 3-1 opening day loss against Stoke and a topsy-turvy 5-3 reverse against Coventry.

Both teams to score in this one is priced up at 11/10 while you can trade our Total Goals football spread betting market at 2.4-2.6.

MILLWALL v WREXHAM, SATURDAY 3PM

Millwall welcome Hollywood’s Wrexham to the salubrious surroundings of south Bermondsey and our partner club will be hoping to bring their moneyed opponents down a peg or two.

The Lions are 21/20 to claim all three points, which could propel them into the top six at this early stage of the season. Home form will be vital if Alex Neil’s side are to finish in amongst the play-offs and you can back the Londoners in our Championship top six odds at 21/10.

As for Saturday, Wrexham can upset the apple cart with a win at 27/10 with the draw chalked up at 23/10.

PORTSMOUTH v PRESTON NORTH END, SATURDAY 3PM

A 1-0  win over Ipswich last weekend was just what Pual Heckingbottom and his Preston side needed and our partner are 23/10 to triumph on the road as they head to Portsmouth. Tipped up to struggle this season, partner club North End find themselves in sixth place after three games and they will be full of confidence as they head to the south coast.

Pompey are another side for whom home form will be key and John Mousinho’s side are 6/5 to get their second win of the season, with the draw at 9/4.

WATFORD v SOUTHAMPTON, SATURDAY 3PM

Four points from their opening three matches was probably not the return to the second tier Southampton had envisaged but they travel to partner club Watford as favourites tomorrow.

The Saints will be without Mateus Fernandes who looks to be moving to West Ham, but his departure should mean more opportunities for US international Damion Downs.

Watford – unbeaten in their last two – have won just two of their last 17 league games with Southampton, but they are 15/8 to improve on that record with the draw at 9/4.
