Read on below for Spreadex Sports' 2025 Formula 1 mid-season betting review with the latest talking points, odds and spread betting prices ahead of the resumption of the season at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri seemingly only having each other to fight with for the Drivers' Championship, while Lewis Hamilton will be looking for an urgent reset after a hugely underwhelming start to life at the Ferrari team.
So, what's the state of play in the world of F1 with half of the season behind us and what can be looked forward to and expected in the remainder of the year? Read on to find out!

With ten more races still to come this season, the post-summer resumption of racing sees the McLaren pair of Piastri and Norris miles ahead (pun intended) of their nearest challengers, with Australia's Piastri leading the way on 284 points and GB's Norris trailing behind on 275, followed by nearest challenger and defending champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull on 187.
The Dutch superstar does not expect to be particularly competitive at his home race or many of the remaining ones this season, with many teams firmly focused on 2026 and the upcoming rule changes which will mean it is critical for teams to grasp the new regulations and produce competitive cars from the outset.
In terms of the Constructors' championship, McLaren's dominance is even more pronounced with the Woking-based team almost securing the title already with 559 points on the board, with Ferrari trailing behind on 260, Mercedes on 236 and Red Bull on 194.
While not as glamorous as the Drivers' championship, the Constructors race is considered perhaps more important within F1 circles due to the financial incentives and implications, so while McLaren have likely sewn up 1st place, the rest of the chasing pack will be highly motivated to finish as high as possible for a timely financial boost before the regulation changes next season.
After the first fourteen rounds of the season, all of the race wins have come courtesy of just four drivers:
Oscar Piastri (McLaren) - 6 Wins: China, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Miami, Spain, Belgium
Lando Norris (McLaren) - 5 Wins: Australia, Monaco, Austria, Great Britain, Hungary
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) - 2 Wins: Japan, Emilia-Romagna
George Russell (McLaren) - 1 Win: Canada
Will there be a radical change in this second half of the season and will there be any more different race winners? Will Ferrari manage a 2025 victory through Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton?
The ten remaining races in the 2025 F1 season are as follows:
29th - 31st August 2025 - Dutch GP
5th - 7th September 2025 - Italian GP
19th - 21st September 2025 - Azerbaijan GP
3rd - 5th October 2025 - Singapore GP
17th - 19th October 2025 - USA GP
24th - 26th October 2025 - Mexican GP
7th - 9th November 2025 - Brazilian GP
20th - 22nd November 2025 - Las Vegas GP
28th - 30th November 2025 - Qatar GP
5th - 7th December 2025 - Abu Dhabi GP
It's certainly safe to say that 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has not enjoyed his first season in the famous red overalls of his Maranello team and questions are certainly being asked - not least by the man himself - whether he still has the required level to challenge at the top.
While the 2025 Ferrari car is certainly not a stellar iteration, Monegasque teammate Leclerc has extracted far better results from the same machinery and it will now be on Hamilton's shoulders to have utilised the summer break to reset and produce quality driving and he will hope to snap an unwanted streak of consecutive races not being on the podium, which has now extended to the longest of his long F1 career.
Hamilton will travel to Zandvoort with odds of 22/1 to claim his first official victory for Ferrari - can he produce a shock?
In some of the latest F1 news before the season resumption, the massive US manufacturer Cadillac will be joining the grid from 2026 with a new F1 team which will have a hugely-experienced driver pairing of Valtteri Bottas, formerly of Mercedes, and Sergio Perez, formerly of Red Bull.
With a driver pairing who boast 527 Grand Prix starts and 16 Grand Prix wins between them, can the new-boys cause a stir and challenge near the front of the grid next season? Watch this space.
As always, with Spreadex Sports you have the option of fixed odds and spread betting on F1 - on both qualifying and the race. Aside from our full range of fixed odds markets, spread betting on F1 provides the option of betting on markets such as our Live Index market.
That particular market is settled on a points system in the following manner: 1st - 25, 2nd - 10, 3rd - 5.
This means, for example, if you bought Lando Norris at 11.5 - 13 and he wins the race, you would win 12x your initial stake. Or, if you bought Lewis Hamilton at 1 - 2 and he secured at least third place and his first Ferrari podium, you would win 3x your stake for a third-place, 8x your stake for a second place or 23x your stake if he got the win.
However, if you bought Norris at 13 and he finished 2nd, you would still lose 3x your stake, 8x your stake if he finished 3rd or 13x your stake if he finished any lower, and so on.
Aside from being able to bet on each individual race, you can also place bets on our Long Term markets such as Constructors Index and Drivers Index, with a spread or fixed odds price on finishing positions at the conclusion of the season for each driver and team. You can view these markets here.
Please remember - spread betting losses may exceed deposit or initial stake, so please bet responsibly.
